The Travel Apps That I Cannot Live Without

February 15, 2018
Travel apps

Since getting my iPhone last year I have discovered a whole world of apps that I depend on. I have the usual such as Whatsapp, Twitter and Instagram but also there are travel apps that I cannot live without.

Trainline

My bible! I travel down to London regularly so use this all the time to check the times. It’s also useful to plan travel trips all over the country. You can also book tickets and pay via PayPal.

UK Live Train Times

This is my second go to app for when I am travelling around. Its perfect because it is gives you to date information about train times. So if you are running a bit late you can have a look at this to see just how fast you have to run to the train station. It’s also a very fast way of me finding the quickest route home.

Uber

Whatever did we do without Uber eh? A few clicks on the app and you can have a taxi waiting for you. What I love about this is that the payment is made by card so no need to carry cash around. Also you know how much the fare is going to be.

Google Maps

I have no sense of direction so I need this baby in my life to get around. It gives you lots of different routes and tells you how long it will take you to get there.

Arriva Bus

I live out in the sticks where the buses do not run that frequently but have some sort of weird timetable. In order for me to get to where I need to I need this app. It has all times as well as lots different routes.

Oooh, great travel apps. The only real travel app I have on my iPhone is the native maps one. I use the car for everything and know most of the places I need to be. The one app I can’t live without is the met office. 🙂

Great apps! I had never heard of Uber until I went to Edinburgh last year, we don’t have it up here in the north! It’s such a great app too, it needs to make it’s way up here!

I would also add the Waze App to this list. It is amazing for driving and alternative routes for beating the traffic. An absolutely vital one on a smart phone. My husband and I would not be without it now. Kate http://www.fivelittlestars.com

Google Maps is great once you figure it out and it is pointing in the right direction. It can be more harm than good when you are trying to navigate your way around London though. Arriva apps is essentials.
