So That Was 2018

January 1, 2019

2018 was a pretty good year with so many highlights so I have put together a summary of the best of them.

Rediscovered my love of blogging and relaunched this blog which led to a few lovely experiences.

Was invited to have Afternoon Tea by Brigit Bakery on their bus

Took part on the panel for Black Women in Beauty.

Get into debt again but got out of it fast. Phew!

Attended a coffee making masterclass with Black Sheep Coffee.

Took part in H73 Podcast with the amazing Agnes Cazin where I discussed the combination of beauty and business.

Attended the Laurent-Perrier champagne pop up bar in Leicester Square.

Was invited to try out the winter menu at Wagamamas.

Visited Newcastle for the first time ever and was impressed with the vibrant city.

2018 was certainly a great for Black British writers who had their books published. I launched the Black British Creative with Kehryse Johnson and organised the Black British Female Author with the authors of Slay in Your Lane, Chimmy Lawson and Culture.

Chaired a panel at Shades of Beauty Live

Made some lovely gin cocktails with Kehryse and Elsie with Tanquery at the pop up garden at The Playboy Club.

Attended numerous events such as Stylist, Elle Weekender and Black Girl Fest.

Overall 2018 was a pretty fab year. I met some wonderful and talented people and was fortunate to work with some of them.

After bummng around in various contract roles I think I have found my calling. Watch this space!

The only downside was that I did not travel abroad. I must fix that this year.
