Another one of my regular haunts is Cafe Nucleus Lounge. It is smack in the middle of Chatham town centre and frankly one of the best cafes situated there. It is one of three cafe’s based in Medway that work closely with local artists and this cafe hosts the Nucleus Arts hub where some of the artists are based.
They serve hot and cold food and a wide variety of drinks. They also do a mini Cream Teas in the sweet or savoury version. The cafe sources locally from farms and producers in Kent wherever possible.
I often come here to work when I need a change of scenery and the fact that it is right next to the Post Office (where I also spend a lot of time) and round the corner from Sainsbury’s works very well in my favour.
With lots of sofas with throws and coffee tables, this is a very cosy place to hang out for a few hours. You can either relax on the sofa with a coffee or sit at the main tables to catch up on work. Either way you will be made to feel welcome no matter how long or short your stay is.
Normally I grab a cafe latte and slice of cake but on my last occasion I decided to treat myself to a savoury Afternoon Tea. Now this consisted of two warmed up cheese scones with butter and a pot of tea. This is a great choice if you are having brunch or do not fancy a full on meal.
