Innocent Drinks have been a favourite of mine ever since they appeared on the scene in 1999 and put the zest into smoothies. Their quirky branding and eye catching marketing campaigns were hard to miss and today Innocent sell over two million smoothies per week. It’s not just all about money with Innocent though, they donate 10% of their profits to various charities one of which is Age UK. They work with the charity in order to help keep thousands of older people warm during the winter. 10 years ago they came up with a great campaign called The Big Knit where senior citizens hand knit mini hats that can be placed on Innocent bottles during November. In order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this wonderful initiative, Innocent have teamed up with supermodel Lily Cole to design a limited edition collection of woolly hats where all profits from the life-sized designer hats go to Age UK. The hats are made from 100% British wool and feature the identity of the granny that knitted it. They are made in dip dyed shades of cool grey and electric blue, topped with a jaunty bobble which are perfect for this winter and just in case you are after one they are available in full sizes for adults available to buy from from Novem.
The Big Knit kicks off tomorrow and runs till Friday 29th November. Behatted smoothies can be found in shops across the land. For more info go to The Big Knit website.
Those generous people at Innocent have given me a woolly hat and one month’s supply of Innocent smoothies for a lucky reader. All you need to do is drop me an email telling me what your favourite Innocent smoothie is. The deadline for this competition is Monday 11th November 2013.
