A Masterclass with Black Sheep Coffee

Black Sheep Coffee

A few weeks ago I was invited to attend a Masterclass with Black Sheep Coffee. The brand was created by a group of coffee-loving friends from uni who decided to give up their hectic careers in the City and embrace a new lifestyle.

In other words, Leave The Herd Behind and stay awake for the rest of their lives. As well as creating their own unorthodox coffee, they have numerous coffee shops across the country which serves as cafes during the day and cocktail bars at night.

Learning all about the origins of the coffee beans!

The Coffee Masterclass was held at the venue on Euston Road. It is a regular affair that is run in conjunction together with Mastercard and the idea is to change how you view and brew coffee.

As soon as I arrived I was treated to a delicious cocktail while I chatted to the other attendees. After that we were split into two groups where we learnt all about Black Sheep Coffee and the theory and techniques for creating the best brews.

Here are the sachets of Black Sheep Coffee.

We were taught about the origins of the coffee bean and how to judge the perfect cup of coffee. We got to play around with the coffee in its raw form and inhale the different aromas. Later on we got to play barista by making our own espressos and café lattes  – and yes with the heart on top!

Although I am not a real coffee gal, more of a tea lady, I had a really great evening and learnt a lot about the ins and outs of making a great coffee. I even got to take home a large bag of Black Sheep Coffee – Decaf of course!

Black Sheep Coffee

Voila! I made my own Cafe Latte and with a heart!

The Masterclass with Black Sheep Coffee is priced at £75.00 but Mastercard holders can get it for £35.00. You can find out more about it on the Mastercard website.

For more information about the brand, please visit the Black Sheep Coffee website.

Their story is very inspiring isn’t it? I agree that cocktails should be a must in coffee shops.

Oh what a fab masterclass! I don’t drink coffee but my husband is obsessed, he has all these different types and flavours and I have to pretend to know what he is talking about, haha!

The coffee actually smelt better than it tasted.

We love coffee so I’d be interested in learning more about it. We currently use a nespresso machine which we love but not sure that real connoisseurs would approve of it!
