As well as their expertise in nail care, Mavala are known for their tiny and cute bottles of polishes. The Swiss company have an eclectic mix of shades to suit any kind of mood. The iconic 5ml pots of colour are an affordable way to buy into this season’s key trends. Unlike traditional nail colour, Mavala’s unique formula delivers microscopic air pockets to allow nails to breath and is free from parabens, formaldehydes, toluene, camphore, cellophane, animal ingredients and heavy metal. I was gifted the Holly Fulton collection by Pure PR which consists of Lemon Cream, Lagoon, Aquamarine and White. I decided to try the Lemon Cream which is very spring like and has an Easter feel. The shade is jut the right yellow, not too neon but strong enough to make a statement. I really love it. I am very much a dark shade girl but Lemon Cream is a perfect departure from my usual deep reds and browns in case I want to switch it up. The brush is surprisingly smooth but the shortness allows for gloopy application. Mavala does not have the most enjoyable application but you get round it in the end. The pigmentation is not that intense; you could get away with two coats but three coats looks a lot better. The polish started to chip on fifth day which is not bad at all considering the low end price. I would certainly try this brand if you want to sample some seasonal colours. The size of the bottles are great because face it – when was the last time you finished a bottle of nail polish?
