Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480

Logitech KeyboardWith the growing use of mobile technology aka smartphones and tablets we have become less reliant on using a keyboard. You can get what you need done using the inbuilt keyboard on those little devices. However saying that nothing beats the comfort of tapping away at a keyboard and it is certainly faster and more efficient. A device that allows you to switch between your computer, tablet and smartphone is invaluable.

Enter the Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 which is a cross-device keyboard that works with your computer, tablet and smartphone. It contains an Easy-Switch dial that lets you easily switch typing among three connected Bluetooth wireless devices. You can place your phone or tablet on the integrated stand at just the right angle for you to read while you type.

I admit it was a bit of a chore setting this up. There are very little instructions with the keyboard (a very annoying trend with tech brands) and I ended up calling the IT support to work out how to switch it on (duh). What you need to do is pull the strip out at the back and switch on the keyboard on the same side. Then on the front facing part of the keyboard you need to go to connect and select pc or i for ios and hold the button down for three seconds to activate the keyboard. After that you need to pair the keyboard to your device via Bluetooth and you need to do this for each device. After that Bob’s your Uncle and you can tap away till your heart’s content.

The keyboard is pretty sturdy and relatively easy to type on but I am not sure if it is for me. I also find it very off-putting having the device in front like that. Maybe it takes a bit of getting used to but I feel like it blocks the light. I think this keyboard is for someone who is really techy and into using gadgets and is either home based or works on a variety of different screens and devices. It just seems like a lot of bother for me to keep flipping between screens. I might as well just save time and type what I want onto the actual screen. I think the keyboard would work for me if it was a lot slimmer.

Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 is priced at £49.99.
