Frankie & Benny’s

Frankie & BennysYesterday I went out to dinner to Frankie & Benny’s in Strood with my family for a bit of Boxing Day dining. Frankie & Benny’s is an Italian-American style diner that serves meals throughout the whole day. The brand has been trading since 1995 when they opened their first restaurant in¬†Leicester and there are now 200 restaurants in the UK.

Whether you are after breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or dessert you will have plenty to choose from. There is also have a gluten free menu for those who have a food allergy or intolerance. All you need to do is tell your server when you place your order. What I like about Frankie & Benny’s is that it is a place for everyone – families, couples or friends who just fancy a quiet meal – the music is not too loud and the booths are very comfy.

I wasn’t too hungry when I got there but I knew that I would be in a few hours so I wanted something heavier than soup so I was pleased to see that the restaurant had a Lighter Spaghetti Bolognese. Basically a lighter portion of classic beef ragu tossed with spaghetti and it was served with a lovely zesty dressed salad.

Of course I had to have a dessert, it would have been criminal to go to an American style Diner and not to. I opted for the Apple and Cherry Crumble with Custard – an excellent choice as it was very tasty. The service was pretty impeccable as well – our server struck the right balance between giving you enough time to peruse the menu but without neglecting you.

Great food, conversation and that made me a very happy lady.¬†If you are after somewhere to go for a nice meal and don’t fancy Nando’s or anywhere too fancy then Frankie & Benny’s is a very happy medium.
