I have always been a Haagen Dazs lady myself but Ben & Jerry’s have sometimes been a great substitution for when H&D were out of stock. Well their Cookie Dough has been anyway. A few weeks ago I was invited to the launch of Ben & Jerry’s new Greek Style Frozen Yogurt where we got to sample the new flavours – Strawberry Shortcake, Raspberry Chocolate Chunk and Vanilla Honey Caramel.
Ben & Jerry’s Fro Yo is lighter than their ice cream but has the same creamy texture. Strawberry Shortcake is a rich Greek yoghurt sprinkled with juicy strawberry bits whirled with crumbly shortcake biscuit; Raspberry Chocolate Chunk is a blend of zingy raspberry notes with smooth chocolatey chunks; and Vanilla Honey Caramel is a soft vanilla FroYo with a swirl of gooey honey caramel.
My personal opinion is that the FroYo tastes great; the Vanilla Honey Caramel is more my cup of tea but it does not taste like the FroYo I would expect. It is far too sweet and tasty to be frozen yogurt or the sort of desert you have when you are calorie clocking. Ben & Jerry’s Greek Style Frozen Yogurt is far too much fun. I would say that this product is perfect those who don’t want to indulge in too much ice cream but do not want to miss out on any of the Ben & Jerry’s goodness.
Ben & Jerry’s Greek FroYo is available in 500ml tubs to share with friends, as well as 150ml pots. For more information please visit their website.
